The Reason Why Santa is Always Happy

I’m doing a video inside today because it’s raining outside. I had a little giggle at myself this morning when I thought about I think I know why Santa is so jolly. It is because he’s always making lists. I’m talking to my kids this week about how we can help our brain to feel calmer when we make lists organize and plan things.

It’s part of executive functioning, and it’s a word that describes all those fancy pants parts of the brain working hard. So this week we are making calendars. We are writing things down. That’s going to happen in the future. And when we do that, we help our brain. That’s reminding us over and over again of stuff that we have to remember.

And we go, Hey, brain, it’s okay. Look, I’ve written that on the list. And our brain can go, thank goodness this Corneliu has listened. I don’t have to remind her now that 200 times it’s on the list. And I think that is why Santa is so happy.
